The holiday season is a time for giving, and there's no better opportunity to make a meaningful impact than GivingTuesday on December 2nd, 2025. This year, we're asking you to join us in supporting an organization doing incredible work right here in the greater St. Louis bi-state region: Gateway Rehab Foundation.
More Than a Home—A Fresh Start
Gateway Rehab Foundation isn't just about building houses. It's about rebuilding lives, restoring neighborhoods, and creating pathways to stability for families who need it most.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Gateway Rehab Foundation serves low-to-moderate income families across Missouri and Illinois through a comprehensive approach to community development. Their programs address housing, education, emergency assistance, and youth empowerment—all working together to strengthen communities from the ground up.
Programs Making a Real Difference
Low-to-Moderate Income Housing Rehab Program – Gateway purchases and renovates homes, then helps qualified buyers with down payment assistance and ongoing support through an aftercare program. This isn't just about handing over keys—it's about setting families up for long-term success.
Homebuyer Education – Before anyone purchases a home, they receive education on the buying process and credit awareness. Knowledge is power, and Gateway ensures buyers are prepared for the responsibilities of homeownership.
Transitional Housing Program – Sometimes families face unexpected crises. Gateway provides furnished emergency housing for up to 12 months for families reuniting after rehabilitation or incarceration, those with loved ones receiving medical care in St. Louis, or anyone displaced by tragedy. They also offer mental health support through sound and meditation healing, plus referrals to behavioral health specialists.
Healthy Homes Program – When Gateway rehabs a home, they don't stop there. They assess neighboring properties and help existing homeowners make critical repairs they couldn't otherwise afford—lifting entire blocks, not just individual houses.
Homes for $40K – Through corporate partnerships, Gateway rehabs and sells homes for just $40,000, making homeownership achievable for families who thought it was out of reach.
Youth Volunteer Revitalization Program – Young people in the community gain hands-on construction experience while learning critical thinking, career skills, and the value of community involvement. It's workforce development and mentorship rolled into one.
Why GivingTuesday Matters
Gateway Rehab Foundation has set a goal of $125,000 for this GivingTuesday campaign. Every dollar donated goes directly toward purchasing homes, creating jobs, and buying materials for renovations.
Even better? Mightycause and the Mightycause Charitable Foundation are giving away $20,000 in cash prizes to participating nonprofits—over 40 chances to win! Your donation could help Gateway secure additional funding to expand their impact.
Donations are open now through December 2nd, 2025, and every gift is tax-deductible.

This December 2nd, let's come together and show what's possible when a community rallies around a common cause.
